A dump truck was part of a multi-vehicle crash that had a stretch of the Blue Route in Delaware County closed for hours Wednesday morning.

With rain falling Wednesday morning, NBC10 First Alert Traffic reporter Matt DeLucia is tracking several crashes, including a dump truck wreck on the northbound Blue Route.

Chaos erupted at the Collingdale Borough council meeting where many opposed the potential hiring of new police chief Rhaheem Blanden who the DA’s office said is under criminal investigation. The meeting didn’t end in a vote. NBC10’s Aaron Baskerville has the details.

Collingdale’s council is expected to discuss electing a new chief of police on Tuesday night, but the candidate on the table is currently under investigation for tipping off an attempted homicide suspect before a raid. NBC10’s Karen Hua reports.

A deadly chain of events has left a family grieving after their loved one was shot and killed on Interstate 95 on Friday night. His car ultimately crashed into another car and a man who was also killed. NBC10’s Brian Sheehan reports. 

A man standing by his vehicle on the highway was hit by a car and killed on Friday night in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, police said. Officials found the driver was shot and killed while behind the wheel of his car.

A man was fatally shot while driving, causing a crash that killed another man in Delaware County late Friday night, police said.

Two brothers have been arrested on charges that they assaulted a New York Times photographer inside the U.S. Capitol during a mob’s attack on the building more than three years ago. David Walker, of New Jersey, and Philip Walker, of Pennsylvania, also are charged with stealing a camera from the photographer during the Jan. 6, 2021, attack.

Friends and family of John and Mathew Gaudreau remembered the brothers at their funeral on Monday. Buses of hockey players from all over the country and Canada were in attendance. NBC10’s Johnny Archer shares more from the tearful event.

“Everything was always John and Matty,” said Meredith, John’s wife, who revealed she was pregnant with the couple’s third child. “I know John would not have been able to live a day without his brother.”

It was a day of mourning for the family and friends of the Gaudreau brothers. They gathered in Delaware County for a private viewing ahead of the funeral on Monday. NBC10’s Brian Sheehan spoke with community members who went to support the family.
